This Weekend at the Circuit Mont-Tremblant …

Mathieu and Rémy Audette Eyeing Another Touring Car One-Two Finish

Boisbriand (Québec), July 23, 2013.– Brothers Mathieu and Rémy Audette return to competition this weekend at the Circuit Mont-Tremblant. After earning a magnificent one-two finish at the last round, held at Mirabel’s Circuit ICAR earlier this month, they are aiming to do just as well in Mont-Tremblant at the helm of their Dimensions Doors / Novatech Super Touring cars.

After winning the first ICAR race and claiming second spot behind his brother Rémy in the second race, Mathieu Audette is now set to compete in his second racing weekend of the season. Driving his Dimensions Doors / Novatech Acura RSX, he is confident heading into the outing at his favourite track : ” After our awesome weekend at ICAR, of course I’m confident.  The whole Audette Racing Team is eyeing another one-two finish this weekend ” confides Mathieu, anxiously anticipating good competition from the other Canadian Touring Car Championship (CTCC) drivers, especially his brother : ” At ICAR, his Civic did really well when coming out of the turns. I’m hoping that my RSX will feel a little better at the Circuit Mont-Tremblant, which is a bit faster of a track.  This should level out the cars’ performances and enable a really good battle between Rémy and I !”

Mathieu Audette already won in Touring Car at Mont-Tremblant but it will be Rémy’s first time competing at the wheel of a Super Touring car, which Mathieu doesn’t see as a problem : ” After Friday’s practice day, he’ll be at the front of the pack “.  Rémy shares the same impressions : ” they’re calling for a nice weekend.  It’ll be the first time that I contest this course in a Super Touring car but I still know the track fairly well, it’s one of my favourites, and my Dimensions Doors / Novatech Honda Civic Si is really competitive. We proved it with a win just three weeks ago at ICAR ! “.

Rémy Audette is aiming to win this weekend at the Circuit Mont-Tremblant : ”  The Audette Racing Team goes racing to win !  Obviously it’s pretty special when you race against your brother but we won’t be alone on the track – many drivers will be racing this weekend with the intent of winning.  Having said that, our new Civic Si works really well and I’m eager to see how I’ll negotiate the famous linkage between turns 1 and 2.   With my F2000 open wheel, I was flat out!  We’ll see this time around … ” confides the 2011 American F2000 champion.

The Circuit Mont-Tremblant Summer Classic marks the midway point of the CTCC season.  The drivers will start their weekend on the track for a 55-minute official free practice on Friday. On Saturday, the qualifying session will be held at 9am, before the first race takes place at 2pm.  The second 30-minute race will be on Sunday at 1:15pm

The Audette Racing Team benefits from the support of Dimensions Doors, Novatech, Les Extrusions du Nord, Verre Select, Jeld Wen, OPM, Amusements Spectaculaire, Les Moulures PFJV, JSA, Robover, Sturtz, Milette Portes, Mec-Inov, Soniplastics and Omnitech.
