Two Races, Two Victories…

Mathieu Audette Triumphs
at Mosport!

Bowmanville
(Ontario), May 20th,  2012.–
Quebec driver Mathieu Audette kicked off the 2012 Canadian Touring Car
Championship season the best way possible. Kept busy in Ontario this weekend at
the wheel of his Dimensions Doors/Novatech Acura RSX, Mathieu Audette earned
the pole position during qualifying before capturing the victory in both of the
double-header program’s races, resulting in an absolute triumph for the Audette
Racing team.

After
setting the best qualifying time, Mathieu Audette never let anyone pass him
during the two  races, winning each of
them with almost a five second lead over his closest competitor.  Offhand, they appear to be easy victories but
Mathieu credits the efforts of the entire Audette Racing Team in achieving
these great results: ” all of the team members worked extremely hard in order
to arrive to these first two rounds as best prepared as we possibly could be,
no doubt giving us an advantage over some other teams.  They were definitely not easy wins,
especially the second race when I had Sasha Anis putting the pressure on during
the first half. It was during the congestion when we were lapping the slower
cars that I was really able to solidify my lead because I was able to squeeze
through the traffic faster than he was and maintain my first place spot ”
explains Mathieu.

For the
Audette Racing Team, these two victories serve as proof of the competitiveness
that Mathieu and his team were expecting: ” everything worked really well and
I’m very satisfied with how we dominated this weekend. It definitely feels good
to have had such a perfect weekend! What more can I say? ” confides the driver
from Ste-Anne-des-Lacs.

Mathieu
Audette will return to competition in early July for the double-header at the
Circuit Mont-Tremblant.  Between now and
then, his younger brother Rémy will swap places with him and will drive the
Dimensions Doors/Novatech Acura RSX for the next two events, which will be at
the Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve in Montreal (as part of the Formula 1 Grand Prix
du Canada on June 8 and 9)  and at the
Circuit ICAR de Mirabel (on June 23 and 24).

” It’s
funny that after these two wins at Mosport, people are asking me if it’s not
putting too much pressure on my brother’s shoulders for Montreal. He may be
starting out in this series but he has been F2000 champion in the United States
and Formula 1600 champion here in Canada so I’m not at all worried about him
being able to hold his own in the next two events ” explains Mathieu Audette. ”
He won’t have any big pressure but it’s fun for him to know that he’ll have a
good car at his disposal ” concludes Mathieu.

The
Audette Racing Team is contesting the entire Canadian Touring Car Championship
with Mathieu and Rémy Audette as alternating drivers. The team benefits from
the support of Dimensions Doors, Novatech, Les Extrusions du Nord, Verre
Select, Jeld Wen, OPM, Amusements Spectaculaire, Les Moulures PFJV, Evotech,
Milette Doors, Gulf, Mec-Inov and Omnitech.
