Another One-Two Finish at the Circuit Mont-Tremblant…

More Success For Mathieu and Rémy Audette !

Mont-Tremblant (Québec), July 28, 2013.– Quebec drivers Mathieu et Rémy Audette each won one of two Canadian Touring Car Championship races presented this weekend at the Circuit Mont-Tremblant, as part of the Summer Classic. At the wheel of his Dimensions Doors/Novatech Acura RSX, Mathieu Audette claimed the first round on Saturday, just ahead of his brother Rémy, who won the second round on Sunday in his Dimensions Doors/Novatech Honda Civic Si.

After already marking the team’s first one-two finish earlier this month at the Circuit ICAR de Mirabel, brothers Mathieu and Rémy Audette earned an almost identical result this weekend at the Circuit Mont-Tremblant, as Mathieu once again won Saturday’s race and Rémy that of Sunday’s. This makes the Audette Racing Team unbeatable in the month of July 2013 !

Qualifying in first (Rémy) and second (Mathieu) spots on the starting grid for Saturday’s race, the two drivers swapped positions as Mathieu quickly overtook Rémy at the start : ” I got a better start than my brother and as a result, I was able to just manage my lead. He was always at my heels but wasn’t ever really able to make an attack. It’s a victory that really pleased me, especially the weekend’s great result for the team ” explained Mathieu.

For Rémy, second place was far from a bad result : ” I admit that Mathieu got me at the start ! After that, I thought I’d be able to pass him but the car’s alignment was getting worse as the race went on. In these conditions, I just had to be content with second place and an Audette Racing Team one-two finish ” he indicated. For the Audette Racing Team, it was the second consecutive one-two result, after the July 7th race at ICAR.

Sunday, the Audette brothers were once again starting in the first line, this time with Mathieu ahead of Rémy.  But the scenario played out differently as Mathieu was forced to retire after the first lap : ” We had problems with the engine during the morning warm-up.  The whole team did an amazing job to change it before the start of the 1pm race. Unfortunately, I noticed I was losing oil after the fourth turn.  It wasn’t directly coming from the new engine but instead from a head joint cover. I made the decision to stop rather than risk damaging the engine ” explained Mathieu.

On his end, Rémy Audette was never threatened for the victory, building up a lead close to thirty seconds with a few laps to go before the finish. He claimed his second victory of the season : ” Sincerely, the win would’ve been better had Mathieu been able to battle me for top spot.  I’m still really happy with the win, both for myself and for the entire Audette Racing Team, who all worked very hard.  Our Dimensions Doors/Novatech Honda Civic Si was better today, she’s competitive and reliable.  It’s another great race weekend, despite the problems with Mathieu’s car. The Audette Racing Team just won four races in a row and we want it to continue ! ” concluded Rémy.

The next outing for the CTCC drivers will take place in 2 weeks, during the Grand Prix de Trois-Rivières. For the third time in a row in 2013, the Audette Racing Team has enlisted both its drivers, with one goal in mind : to continue their run of success.

The Audette Racing Team benefits from the support of Dimensions Doors, Novatech, Les Extrusions du Nord, Verre Select, Jeld Wen, OPM, Amusements Spectaculaire, Les Moulures PFJV, JSA, Robover, Sturtz, Milette Portes, Mec-Inov, Soniplastics and Omnitech.
