The Grand Prix de Trois-Rivières…

Mathieu Audette Looks to Repeat His 2011 Victory

Ste-Anne-des-Lacs (Québec), July 30, 2012.– Quebec driver Mathieu Audette will retake the wheel of the Dimensions Doors/Novatech Acura RSX for this weekend’s two Canadian Touring Car Championship rounds, held as part of the popular Grand Prix de Trois-Rivières. The Audette Racing Team driver, and winner of last year’s Friday night race, is eyeing yet another victory at this event.

With a total of four podiums in four races this season, including two victories at the first two opening rounds, Mathieu Audette is expecting stiff competition this weekend on the temporary urban circuit in Trois-Rivières : ” I think there will be at least three or four drivers that can battle for the win here, each of whom have a car with advantages and disadvantages at this track.  It’ll be tight!   In our case, the Dimensions Doors/Novatech Acura RSX is very agile, which enables us to be very precise in the turns, but it’s less powerful than the BMWs and other Super Touring class cars’ maximum speeds ” explains Mathieu.

The Audette Racing Team is ready for this weekend’s challenge with more than sixty team guests on hand as support : ” we’ve invited sixty of our sponsors’ personnel to join us in the Villeneuve stands. They’ll be with us and part of the action all weekend and we plan on giving them a good show ” specifies Mathieu Audette, who is excited at the opportunity to repeat his 2011 victory, which pronounced him as the very first winner of a nighttime Canadian Touring Car race.

In order to be fully prepared for the 2012 Grand Prix de Trois-Rivières, the Audette Racing Team will conduct a private test session at the Circuit ICAR in Mirabel, on Tuesday. ” After the issues we encountered at the last round, which cost my brother the victory, we changed several wiring components to ensure that everything was ok. The ICAR test will act as verification that we were successful and that the car is ready to win at Trois-Rivières ” concludes Mathieu Audette.

The Canadian Touring Car Championship drivers will take to the track four times during the Grand Prix de Trois-Rivières weekend. Friday, the practice session will be held at 10am, followed by qualifying at 3:05pm.  The start of the first thirty-minute race will be at 8pm that night. On Saturday, August 4th, the second round will be held from 4:30 – 5:00 pm.

The Audette Racing Team is contesting the entire Canadian Touring Car Championship with Mathieu and Rémy Audette as alternating drivers. The team benefits form the support of Dimensions Doors, Novatech, Les Extrusions du Nord, Verre Select, Jeld Wen, OPM, Amusements Spectaculaire, Les Moulures PFJV, Evotech, Milette Portes, Gulf, Mec-Inov and Omnitech.
