Rémy Audette is Confident Heading into the Touring Car Season

Boisbriand (Québec), May 15, 2013.– The Audette Racing Team will launch their 2013 season this weekend with Rémy Audette at the wheel of a brand new Dimensions Doors / Novatech Honda for the first two rounds of the Canadian Touring Car Championship (CTCC), to be held at the Mosport circuit (Canadian Tire Motorsports Park), east of Toronto.

Québec driver Rémy Audette, the 2011 American F2000 champion, will contest his first full season in CTCC.  In addition, this new challenge will be at the helm of a brand new Super Touring Honda Civic Si. ” We ended up taking a bit longer than originally planned for the build of the car, leaving us only half a day of pre-season testing at the St-Eustache Autodrome track.  It’s not much time but we are reassured by the potential that this car is demonstrating ” explains Rémy.

For the two rounds this weekend, the Audette Racing Team’s goal is to finish. ” We always go to races with the hopes and plans of winning but we have to be realistic.  Our Dimensions Doors/Novatech Honda Civic Si is being raced for the first time and we still have a lot to learn about it ” specifies Rémy Audette. In the off chance that there are any unpleasant surprises, the team also brought with them the Acura RSX that Rémy and his older brother Mathieu shared during the 2012 season, earning several victories. ” The RSX is like our spare car.  Our focus will be on the new Honda, but should something go very wrong, I’ll be able to fall back on the RSX ” clarifies the driver.

The Mosport circuit, known as the Canadian Tire Motorsports Park, went through many recent changes, resulting in a new environment and some modified corners for the series drivers to discover. ” It doesn’t really worry me.  Mosport is a track where I’ve often had success, both in open wheel and in CTCC last year.  I’m just really eager to get the season started ” concludes Rémy.

The CTCC drivers have a busy schedule this weekend with no less than five practice sessions proposed for Friday.  On Saturday, the sole qualifying session is set from 9:30 – 9:55 am and will be followed by the first race at 1:30 pm.   On Sunday, the second race will take place around 3:30 pm, after the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series race.

The Audette Racing Team benefits from the support of Dimensions Doors, Novatech, Les Extrusions du Nord, Verre Select, Jeld Wen, OPM, Amusements Spectaculaire, Les Moulures PFJV, Gulf, Mec-Inov, Soniplastics and Omnitech.
